| TRIATHLON INFORMATION
Pacific Grove is definitely one of the most picturesque triathlons (and also one of the flattest! -- a big plus in my book!). The swim is in Monterey bay right off the coast of Lover's Point, the run is a loop towards Cannery Row and the bike is an out and back along the 17 mile drive near Pebble Beach. The course record is 1:47:58, but as you might expect, I don't really plan to finish anywhere near the course record. My guess is at 1:47:58 I'll only be about halfway through the triathlon. The Pacific Grove Triathlon is an
olympic distance
triathlon (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run) that attracts around 1500 amateurs
(in addition to the pros) each year. The date for this year's event is
September 14th.
